They can be found everywhere, everyone who ever worked in technical support or system administration met them, and everyone can't stand them.
PEBKAC - Disclaimer and humoristic examples
PEBKAC Simply stands for "Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair".
In short - A user problem.
Examples:
- A User calls complaining she put 20 pages in her scanner's feeded and scanned them all and somehow some of them got scanned backwards (This is a new special AI Scanner that flips the pages for its own amusement!).
- A user calls complaining he cannot work because that "Outlook orange square is taking up the whole screen". Turns out she was in search mode, so outlook kept the orange search thing with the search form on top of her toolbar.
PEBKACs are everywhere, and they will always be there to make your day funnier (or more annoying - you decide) and they exist since the beginning of time - we all remember the classic support stories about people who called up technical support and complained about their cup holder (CD Tray) or that they cannot connect to the internet, while they have no modem etc...
Anyways, lotsa people asked so figured i'd explain :)
